What each fee pays for

NIMC enrolment fee

This is the fee for diaspora NIN enrolment set by the National Identity Management Commission. It is paid by card before your enrolment begins.

Centre fee

This is our charge for the service: checking your documents, capturing your biometrics, submitting your enrolment and helping you follow up afterwards.

NPC attestation fee

This goes to Nigeria's National Population Commission for your birth attestation or foreign birth notification. It is not paid to us. Only MasterCard is accepted on the NPC website.

How do I pay?

Bring a valid debit or credit card to your appointment for the NIMC fee and the centre fee. Pay the NPC fee online, on the NPC website, before your appointment. If you have a question about payment, ask us when you book.

Worked examples

These examples show the enrolment fees paid at our centre. Each person also needs their own NPC record, paid separately to the NPC ($80.00 for a foreign birth record; check the NPC attestation portal for the fee if you were born in Nigeria).

Example NIN enrolment fees at our London centre (excluding NPC fees)
Who is enrollingEnrolment fees paid at the centre
One adult£95.00
One child (parent already has a NIN)£80.00
One parent and one child£95.00 + £80.00
Two children (parent already has a NIN)£80.00 × 2

When each fee is paid

  1. Days or weeks before: the NPC fee, online, when you apply for your birth attestation or foreign birth notification (MasterCard only).
  2. At the appointment, before enrolment: the NIMC enrolment fee, by card.
  3. At the appointment: our centre fee.

Official fees vs centre fee

We show the official NIMC and NPC fees separately from our own fee so you can see exactly what you are paying for. Be cautious of any provider who quotes a single "all-in" price without telling you which part goes to NIMC and the NPC.

Are there any other costs?

Most people only pay the three fees above. Extra costs can come up if:

  • your birth record cannot be found and you need an affidavit (applied for through the FCT High Court portal);
  • you later need to update or correct your NIN details, which has its own NIMC fees (see NIN updates);
  • you need printing or photocopies of documents, which we can do at the office.

Is it cheaper to register for NIN in Nigeria?

First-time NIN enrolment at NIMC offices inside Nigeria is free, but that only helps if you are already travelling there. For most people living in the UK, the cost of flights and time off work makes enrolling here the practical choice. The diaspora enrolment fee is set by NIMC.
